Liminal Soundscape

Composition concept

The Liminal public sculpture installation on the bank of the river Thames in London featured a downloadable app called Liminal which is connected to a sonar buoy in the river; this expresses the real time movement of river life and currents, sourced directly in front of the sculpture, as a personal light and sound experience through the app.

The soundscape composition is a tapestry of live data-triggered musical and field recorded sound parts, producing dreamy, fluid, slowly undulating pulses and shimmers, inspired by the unseen movements of the water and the life within.
